Event Details:

Friday, January 12, 2018
3:00pm - 5:00pm PST

Location

466 Via Ortega, Cypress Hall D, Stanford University, Stanford, CA

Free and open to the public — please come by!

The Martin Luther King, Jr., Research and Education Institute will host an Open House and Reception as part of its annual King Holiday celebration.

The public can visit Dr. Clayborne Carson and his colleagues at the King Institute and tour the recently updated exhibit of King-related photos and documents. The Open House will also include live music (featuring Stanford's a cappella group Everyday People) and refreshments.

This year’s theme honors King’s vision of “a ‘great world house’ in which we have to live together—black and white, Easterners and Westerners, Gentiles and Jews, Catholics and Protestants, Moslem and Hindu, a family unduly separated in ideas, culture, and interests who, because we can never again live without each other, must learn, somehow, in this one big world, to live with each other in peace.” —Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Address, Oslo, Norway, December 10, 1964
