Dear Dr. Johns:

On the second Sunday in December 1956 Dexter Avenue Baptist Church will be observing her Seventy-ninth Anniversary. This is an annual event in which we seek to bring some of the outstanding preachers of the nation to deliver the sermon. We would like to extend the invitation to you to serve as guest preacher for this Seventy-ninth Anniversary Observance on Sunday, December 9 at the 11:00 O’clock Service. Both your presence and your message would be an inspiration to our church and the whole Montgomery Community. We hope very much that you will be able to accept the invitation. I would appreciate an early reply so that I can procede in setting up our church calendar.

Very Sincerely Yours,
M. L. King, Jr.
