On January 13th, about 30 Bay Area teachers gathered at the King Institute for a workshop focused on the newly published anthology, A Time to Break Silence: The Essential Works of Martin Luther King, Jr., For Students. After special guest Dr. Clarence B. Jones shared his insights connecting past and present direct action campaigns, Dr. Andrea McEvoy Spero, King Institute's Director of Education, discussed strategies for teaching about King and the ongoing struggle for justice.
